Why is astringent staining my daughters clothes?

It's the only thing we can figure out that is staining dark clothes like they have been bleached. Is there anything we can do to prevent this?

It says right on the tube that it causes staining. My daughter only wears a white t shirt or somthing white and only applies it at nite, and she uses white pillow cases and sheets so they don't get stained either. as far as during the day, we havent figured that out yet just be extra careful when applying it, and rub it in well.
