For sure. He proved himself indecisive at a critical moment in the nation's history. Never can he claim to be the brains behind his administration, as his reaction showed he was completely clueless.
A strong leader would at the very least have explained to the children that he regretted to leave for a matter of national security. That would have seemed way more presidential, even to these little children who will now grow up with the impression their president cares more about little goat stories- which will by that time seem trivial even to them- than his real job.

Im in Australia and didnt know about this - but if Im reading your question right Pres Bush was reading a story to children when he was told about the 9-11 incident and continued to read until he finished the book - my opinion is he probably did the best he could under the situation - another 5 minutes was not going to change anything and those kids probably enjoyed the book and would have been upset about him leaving in the middle of the book - I dont know how old the kids were but if they were having a book read to them Im guessing pretty young - too young to understand 9-11

Bush did no longer shield us on 9/11. Bush allowed the worst attack on US soil. He replaced into warned till now that Al Qaeda skill to attack the U. S. with airplanes. hundreds of my fellow people died for Bush's lapse in management. I actual have kin individuals who worked interior the twin Towers and have been fortunate to get out alive. So of direction after Bush have been given caught together with his pants down he accompanied up with the help of no longer attacking the terrorists who delivered the towers down, yet extremely with the help of attacking Iraq. How giant stupid replaced into that. Ambassador Stevens replaced into no longer in an embassy. He had to circulate to the consulate in Benghazi to fulfill with the Qadaffi opposition. i'm no longer a democratic or a republican supporter, I basically comprehend the certainty, no remember what lies come from Fox.

No. I'm sure he was anxious to find out as much as the children were to learn how the story ended. Any other President might have said, "We'll leave it there for now. I have to tend to some important business, everyone." He showed that little goats have more priority than an immediate response to a terrorist attack, which I'm sure impressed Al-Qaeda. Next time another 9-11 type of attack happens, I'm sure he'll want to finish playing "Chutes and Ladders" before calling his Cabinent together.

Bush acted like a PARENT! very comendable. if Clinton would have done his job years earlier whe he HAD Bin Laden and LET HE GO! we would never had this problem... Actualy if he would NOT have hired WARREN CHRISTOPHER who hosed up IRAN forvever for the WORST PREZ we ever had :Jimmy Carter , then teh Middle East wouldn't be so screwed up... you could really go as far back as Truman to really say who screwed up by not getting the Arab world's buy in about the creation of Israel. Until the Muslim acknowleadge Israel nothing will change....

No,and I doubt anyone would of acting any differently...If it had been congress or the senate he was engaged with it would of been a different story, but these were children..innnocent from the facts of terrorists, its bad enough we all had to explain it to the children eventually and imagine those who had parents killed in the incident..gawd,get a clue man!

Not really.. I do not think that at the time he realized how serious the situation was. By the time he was notified, we had already seen most of what was happening on TV. We had the advantage of having almost a half hour to process and make sense of what just happened. Bush didn't have a clue.

Hey dude he was into it. The country was falling apart and you want him to stop reading a classic. Plus he had all those children to help him get by all those really big words in case he got stuck. C'mon cut the man a little slack. He could have moved earlier but he forget to say "May I" to Commandant Cheney. I hate when that happens. He did leave early and missed recess, give the guy a little credit.

Simply put ... No, and I seriously doubt that anybody would of done any differently, and I'm sure that he was not the only adult US citizen that was caught in that perdicament at that particular moment in time. Everyone did their best on that day, and a lot of them lost their lives doing their best.

He was probably shocked and didn't know what to do. WHo would? I really don't like the guy but the whole 9/11 thing floored me for days. I don't know what he could have done to react better.
