First off, it was Hezbollah that started the fight. If you must post these kinds of questions at least take the time to learn a few facts first.
If the USA left 100% of the area today, the muzzies would still want to destroy Israel.

yes, Iran and other Arab countries deny the state of Israel the right to exist in the middle east . which i see as a bit fair due to the crimes the Israel has been committing against Arabs .
if Jews are ruling life would be easier for both Arabs and Jews in the middle east. but what we have in the middle east now is not Jews what we have is Zionists with an agenda to annihilate anything Arab.
as an American Jew, i find the existence of the Jewish state a must . And i do not condone the Israeli state , i call for integration with Arabs , which is doable if the Israeli government cease occupation of Arab lands and start talks rather fight wars that are uncalled for .
the Jewish state as i know it , is a state of peace , where both Arabs and Jews can live and peacefully co exist and that can not be achieved with current belligerent state of Israel.
if we as Jews play it safe and integrate without irritating native Palestine ppl i think we can have a Jewish state along side a Palestine state.
As for Iran being able to confront the US , on a political level they can and on military level they also can , nothing worse than sending your troops to Iran, Iranian know their land very well and are aware with all American tactics which failed during the Israeli war against hazeb ala , air forces can not jut do it .
the US governement is just playing an old game using old rules, expansion in the middel east under the guise of the "war in terror " is a taveristiy that needs to stop. every one in the wolrd in thier right mind that is , will say that is just another hog wash , draining war that the US is fighting , and no one approves of it . the war in iraq proved to be a joke and did not cause any one but the states a lot of grife and los of resources .
it is time for our US governement to sit and talk rather use arms .

Iran would have responded to this aggression if Lebanon would have been a 100% Muslim country...If Syria would have been attacked (witch is most Muslim) and much closer to Iran, they would have responded...Lebanon is 35% Muslim,35%Christian and 30% other religions...
I don't think US's presence in the region has something to do with the fact that they didn't attack Israel for what is happened in Lebanon...

Iran NEEDS to have an unprovoked attack so they can be leveled and rebuilt.
They are hoping to do the same thing that India did under the Clinton administration. And it might work.
If they can postpone negotiations long enough to get a Democrat President in Office...they'll get their nukes...just like India...
and they know it.
Now if little ol stupid ME can figure this out...you know full damn well that Iran has figured it out.
Hopefully Bush will slip, in his final weeks, and hit the red button and nuke every facility Iran possesses
in one huge attack...
then we can transition into a Democrat president...
probably Hillary "Steal Silver from the White House" Clinton...
and she can rebuild Iran.

1) There was no Israeli agression. They were defending themselves against unprovoked terrorist attacks.
2) If not for the US, Iran would destroy Israel with nuclear weapons at their earliest possible convenience.
