I will never forget or allow my memory of that day lessen. Sitting and watching helplessly as my country is violated. In my town, (Riverside, Ca) there was a man in a business suit standing on a street corner waving a large American flag, tears rolling down his face. I understand why you posted this question I think. It is a time to share our grief over this horrid event. The memory is bittersweet in that in the aftermath of this attack we were galvanized as a people. Suddenly there was no class system, no color barriers. Everywhere I went I noticed it. People were a lot nicer to each other. A lot gentler. The crime rate across the country dropped drastically if only temporarily. Such beautiful messages of condolence were sent from so many different countries and I feel that brought us together as a planet. We were reduced to what was important. Do you remember how long our regular television schedule was off. And I heard no complaints. I wasn't afraid that it was the end of the world but others were. Their fear brought with it respect for others. I savor that part of the memory. I will never allow that memory to dissipate. I feel I owe it to my countrymen to keep their memory hallowed. I also understand that when you say God Bless the USA, you say this with pride for your country with all its problems, not to exclude any other countries. Its like when the French say"Vive la France". So yes, GOD BLESS THE USA!

I am still saddened by it. I've had it on my mind this morning. I can still remember to this day where I was and what was going through my head. I can remember crying and wanting all my family home with me.For months afterward the attack everytime I heard a plane overhead, I would get chills. It affected me much more than people know. How anyone can commit such a act is beyond me. I will never understand it.
