When I was in the early stages of pregnancy with my first child, I once wore a belt. My mother became quite upset when she saw me and told me to take it off because my baby would be born with the cord round its neck and could strangle himself to death. Not being superstitious I ignored her and continued wearing a belt. When I had to have an emergency ceasar later, because my baby had the cord round his neck and was in distress, my mother reminded me that it was because of my wearing belts.
I'm still not siperstitious and think that it was just one of those things.

I have this thing, that if you think something bad might happen, you shouldn't say it out loud, or it will. Like "I bet the car is going to break down halfway there." Or like my husband is always saying that because he's so like his mom, and she got cancer, he probably will too! That makes my blood run cold.
It's crazy because I am a Christian and should have more trust in God than that but it still bothers me when people talk disaster.

Well i always touch my wooden head board and then say "touch wood that everyone i love is ok" I don't believe in that kind of stuff and that's why what i'm gona say next is so dumb, i'm scared to stop doing it in case something bad happens to one of them cos then it'd be my fault. It's ok, dad said he used to play piggy in the middle with me when i was little and i'm sure one of them missed and dropped me so that would explain, well, me

I don't believe it superstitions. You just have a generous mom who loves you and wants you to succeed. Put your faith in God, not things.
