I agree! I think Love and da ben have it right...but if we were doing this only for the points, wouldn't you pick best answer to get the 3 points back!?! I find it annoying when people dont pick best answer....or at the least, pick no best answer at all!

Mainly because most of the answers are just to get the 2 points.
Nevertheless, I got voted 5 times last week for best answer.

To me it happens when i am unable to select a best answer when all answers seem good and i think if i did choose one the other might feel heart broken.
That is why, I prefer to put my question on vote rather than selecting a best answer myself so that the answerers might not feel dishearted or heart broken from asker's side.

Uh...I agree, but this applies on me too. Not because I don't want to finalize my question, it's because sometimes I get too busy and don't even connect to the Internet. But I guess *SOME* people don't bother with best answers because they have either stupid question or they want someone to agree with them but no one did...

They just want joy by asking and not finalizing? Or if there were not a best answer, what would you do? Force them to select one?

Sometimes the person doesn't feel anyone answered "best." Sometimes people ask questions they know the answers to, to test Yahoo! answerers, and find that no one took it seriously enough or was funny enough. Sometimes people aren't online and they miss the time period to choose the best one.

Some questions deserve what I call "a two points answer"
nothing more...nothing less.
