I think Orson was a genius who had the ability to make nice to people and make things happen.

Just watched Citizen Kane for the first time. It's a phenomenal movie, especially in it's time. Welles used creative ways to maximize his relatively low budget. And who would have thought that Rosebud would be a sled, a memory of his life before money and power ruined it?
