To be on the safe side, why not delete all except ones in program files and windows?

Zipped files do nothing until they are decompressed and you should realize no problems if you delete them.

My recommendation would be to copy them to CD before you delete them from your PC. At least this way you'll have them if the need should arise.

Most folks PC's are clogged up with programs, songs, movies, pictures, etc. that they rarely access. Why not do some hard drive maintenance and clean it up by removing those things that you never use. Remove programs that are never used and copy those things (songs, pics, etc.) to CD.

Hard Drive perfomance is greatly improved when defrag is routinely performed and I try to keep my HD at 50% or less of its' capacity.

all zip files can be deleted safely
once any zip file you have downloaded has been used all the information has been extracted it is then copied to a folder on your hard drive so the zip file is no longer required as you have a working copy installed on your computer
