I have a few options:
a) He would have dined that night and starved afterwards; but this would have been very stupid, it was best to eat the cow.
b) His body was ripped off by the magic plant growing inside him. Next morning the giant found his liver up the tree and happily eat it.
c) As some people have already said, it gave him magic farts. But this was no good either. The giant smelled him even quicker "Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum! I smell the fart of an English man!" He eat him up that very morning
I guess eating the magic beans wasn't a very wise choice. Maybe he expected to sh-**** golden coins, the poor fellow.

Without thinking Jack swallowed the beans. They tasted a little strange. Suddenly his body started expanding vertically. He felt like he was being stretched with a great amount of power. He closed his eyes. It was unbearable.When he opened his eyes he had grown so tall that he could see the whole country. ( he had probably became the tallest person and the greatest fool in the whole world!!)

Its probably best to suggest how you could re-enact this event...
(1) drink 1 litre of Andrews liver salts
(2) eat 1 small packet of chilli flavoured peanuts
(3) eat 2 heads of cabbage (lightly cooked)
(4) drink a Cherry Coke
(5) run around a lot.....
(6) DONT stand near any naked flames!

i think his stomach acid would've eaten away all the magic in the beans and he'd still have been hungry after eating a few dry beans.
His family would've starved and probably he would've too unless his mom started hooking to make money.
