I have a navy blue flannel blanket that my boyfriend washed with powder tide, or gain im not sure which, but its left white marks all over my blanket, which i didnt take much notice to at first, but when i actually make up my bed it looks horrid, any ideas how to get them out? i tried putting it in on an extra rinse but i dont think it helped much

i know the powder soap used to do this to my black jeans as well, we started turning them inside out before washing them, but never really figured out how to get rid of the soap marks.

he said he does put the soap in first. but it never disolves all the way.

i'll try to run it threw again maybe without soap?
its a big heavy blanket so its hard to fuss with while its wet.

I had the same problem with my partners navy blue polo work shirts ( he works for Office Max). Re-washing didn't help. I finally used white vinegar and rub it into each area of the shirt where the problem was. I let them sit for about 15 minutes and then ran thru a normal cycle (warm wash) with no detergent.

No more white spots!

Because your item is larger and bulky, you could do this over the bathtub.

Just be sure that you add the soap as the washer is filling and then add the clothing. Also, many powdered washing products don't dissolve well in cold water! If you use cold water for your laundry, I would suggest a liquid product. Still follow the "add while washer is filling" procedure.

Good Luck!

If you wash it again it should come out, you may have to rub on the spots a little while it is wet. This can be eliminated by putting in the powder before you put your clothes in as the washer is filling up with water so that the soap will dissolve before it makes contact with your clothes. I agree with you though, liquid is the way to go.

When you use powdered laundry detergent let it disolve in the water before you add the clothes. Let the machine start to fill, pour in the laundry soap stir it around until it disolves. Then you won't get these marks.
