It is almost a decade since I am using Windows and have finally decided to try out Mac, I know Vista but it does not look that promising. Coming back to the Mac the two main applications I currently use are Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks both are available for Mac so not a problem. But I have a few basic queries (sorry if they are dumb but I have no idea on Mac) :-
1) Currently in my office I am using Windows XP with ICS so if I connect my Macbook will it work ?
2) Macbook uses AirPort Extreme wireless networking (802.11b/g) so is it compatible with all the Wi-Fi hotspots ?
3) Macs dont come with a PCMCIA slot so it is not possible to use the EDGE data cards for accessing the Internet on the move, Is there any alternative to that ?

1) yes but its more tricky,
2) yes
3) there is no way around that problem that im aware of

as for Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks these works perfectly fine on a PC. i hate mac's with a passion for the reasons
1) So overpriced
2) they turn off at random
3) u have to pay the extra to get a 2 mouse button
4) when u drag stuff about to copy it, it just makes shortcuts everywhere.
5) the bar at the bottom of the screen is just annoying
6) as is all the mac operating system
if i was given a mac, it would need to have the intel CPU, so i could install windows on to it.
i would always recommend to anybody to get a Windows based PC. NEVER a evil Mac.

What's ICS? If it's a airly standard protocol OS X should support t. If not, install Windows and run it that way.

AirPort is Apple's brand name for 802.11, that is Wi-Fi. I use a generic Linksys router at home and it works just fine.

For connectivity on the move, you have Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet and modems in pretty much every Mac. If that's not adequate you are using some really strange means to connect now.

Macbook laptops is an exceedingly stable and robust investment. Macbook computers are stable, for here motives: -stable -excellant overall performance -much less virus/spywares/malwares (it rather is achieveable to by no skill get an outbreak on Mac computers) -stable confident, Macbook laptops are stable.
