I just got up to get ready for school (high school) and was watching the TV.
My dad was on shift as a Phoenix Firefighter. We were worried he might be sent over there, but luckily he wasn't.

No I didn't celebrate. I was up the shops in the discount store. We heard it over radio as first plane hit. The reporter assumed it was a terrible accident; but when the 2nd plane struck, she seemed as bewildered as we were. Untill the 3rd plane hit the pentagon, then we thought this must be the start of Armageddon.
A devastating terrorist strike which claimed many innocent lives, just like the London tube, the Madrid train, the Bali tourist resort, the Iraq car and the Lebanon countered by Hezbollah bombings; along with many, many more. Such aggression, carnage and tragedy. Nothing worth celebrating.

Nope - I was at work - rumors started to spread that someone somewhere had crashed an airplane into a house.
Didn't react on it at first since I thought it was just a small plane falling into a hut somewhere, but soon I could hear people gathering in the meeting room where there was a telly.
I arrived in the room a few minutes before the second plane hit, and was shocked! It blew my mind - I remember thinking how anyone was capable of doing something like that...
I really sympathize with all you people that lost someone that horrible day.

I was watching good morning America when I saw the planes hit. I had been wrapping my husbands gift for our anniversary on Sept. 12. I called my mother in law and asked her if the world had gone insane. We cried together on the phone. I got my daughter from school early and my husband came home from work early...he works at an airport . When I went to work that night, I drove past a lot of churches with their parking lots full. I worked at WalMart overnight at the time. We had no customers that night and it was very, very quiet. Innocent people should not have had to die for someone to make their point.

My husband and I were just getting up and my parents called us. It was devastating. My husband is a volunteer firefighter and when the towers collapsed and all those people were trapped it became even more emotional in my household. The sounds of the warning indicators that were all going off of firefighters down was horrifying. My husband had me listen to what one sounds like, and I can't even imagine being there in person and listening to all of them going off. My heart sinks when I remember that day and all those people's lives being prematurely ripped from our lives. It is very sad. What kind of scared us was it wasn't but 2 months before that and we were on a plane to California, that and about 10 other family members. I feel much empathy for the ones who lost their loved ones.
We will never forget!!!

It is funny sometimes I can not remember what I did last Tuesday but I do remember where I was on that morning. I was at home. I was going into work late that day . It was one morning that I did not have the TV on. My boyfriend called me and told me to turn it on. I thought it was some kind of joke or something. I was so shocked. I have many family members in that area and my first thoughts went out to them.

I was at home with my family. Had just got home from work and was cooking tea when the kids put the tv on to see the news. We all just sat in silence absolutely stunned in shock. My thoughts and best wishes go out to those who were affected, today is surely going to be difficult for them.

My brothers were watching the breaking news on CNN... And my dad and me were like: WHAT???!!!
We couldn't believe it... And than we al saw the second plane...
It made me feel so sad that I wrote a poem that day...
So NO I wasn't one of those who were celebrating...
