Is or was there a national holiday,comparable to the 4th of July,
that was or is celebtated in the south?

No. If I recall correctly, their were no national holidays in the north or the south prior to the civil war. The first national holiday observed was Memorial Day which was to honor the Civil War dead.

People really combine Memorial Day to accept all soldiers who were Americans. There really is no separated legal holiday being that the Union government has control.
