I don't think we know if ants actually get 'angry'. If they are capable of anger they should also have other emotions. They should laugh, get whimsical and lonely...
Their reaction is basically an attack-for-defence response. They have classes of ants within their colony that have the job of attacking anything that threatens their existence. Blame is not an issue here on the side of the ants, any more than you can blame a lion that catches and kills antelopes. It's part of their survival to do what they do.
If you attack them for no valid reason then yes -- you should think twice and not do it any more. If they are not harming you it's better to leave them alone.Ants perform a vital function in any balanced ecosystem. if you kill them of then you'll be dealing with the things they normally eat -- like various bugs...

Depends on why you stomped on the ants...was it an accident or on purpose. And let's face it, ants will swarm even if you are just near their hill.
Second question: Are the ants now mounting an assault on your house? If so, I'd get some major ant spray out and use it on every last one of the little bastards.

No you should feel no guilt whatsoever. It is the ants fault for your having to stomp on their nest because they so rudely built it without first asking you for a building permit and then failed in their attempt to build a structure to comply with the current regulations regarding sanitation and electricity, no to mention zoning. You had every right to stomp on that nest ... forget about it ... mmm by the way ... I have a hornets nest I need you to step on for me ......
