i was recently part of an interview panel for a large company on a national uk recruitment drive and some of the male applicants when asked for their comments or any questions brought up the fact that they were gay, this has confused me because sexuality was not part of the criteria for the job and frankly i do not care what they are as long as they can do the job, so, why mention it none of the girls interviewed told us they were gay, whats happening, can someone please tell me in sensible terms,) the job positions were nothing to do with sexuality) why gay guys bring it up

You are right, it has nothing to do with their job. I think it is their way of letting other gays know they are gay. I would call it very inappropriate to bring it up in a job interview situation.

Because they cant help them selves and feel an overwhelming need to tell everyone. We don't go round and say I'm straight all the time. because they have were wrongly wired from birth they feel that they have to change their voice and mince about the place self promoting themselves. At school Teachers would stand up in assembly and tell us all they were gay and proud of it. one used to wear a pink t-shirt which said "I can't even think Straight" now to me that is a bit in your face and why was he ever allowed to wear such a t-shirt i dont know. What would have happened if a straight male teacher had worn a t-shirt which stated he likes hot women with big juggs. there would have been an outrage.
All this points to the fact that their brains were wired up incorrectly therefore they are a bunch of self promoting deviant pre-madonas. Thank God for AID's

They might have thought they would mention it now rather than later to help with your decision making, i.e. of not offering them the job, because lets face it, their is a lot of hostility towards gay people still. Other than that, I know many gay guys and gals and once they have come "Out of the closet" so to speak, they are very confident with who they are, and don't mind telling people that. Straight people could take a leaf out of their books, might make some a better person.

They are cruising at the expense of the Company. Telephone the Managing Director and ask him if he is gay, and why this problem has arisen? If he is not gay he will give you an interview but maybe you don't fancy that Company any more. But make the telephone call!

With an increase in bigotry, a 'gay' person feels it is best to be upfront and state their case honestly. This will obviate the need for later misunderstanding.
By remarking on this, you illustrate the point exactly.

I think its because the gay community has a kind of a habit or culture in which they try to expose themselves as much as possible. The more they are exposed, the more people will know more about them. For my opinion is a kind of globalisation to let everyone know the existence of them is as fair as everyone of us.

Maybe they feel they would be discriminated against for not telling you. Not everybody is as understanding as you. There are a lot of people who still think that if a person is gay, there is something wrong with them. I think it is terrible that in this day and age that some people still think that being gay is wrong.

Why telling the girls to tell him anything? Tell him yourself. Guidance counsellors can't do a damn thing about it either. Tell him to leave you alone, give him an ultimatum, and if he doesn't stop, go to your principal's office and fill a complaint against him for harassment.
