Having read the other answers I am wondering why I am so different! Most people put their achievements to having children etc. My immediate thought when I read your question was that my greatest achievement was my B.A.Hons Degree which I did through Open University and took 8 years to complete. This I see as achievement - I worked hard at it. As to tragedy here I am similar to others because losing my Mum, Dad and my sister all within 2 1/2 years of each other was, to me, a tragedy.

My greatest achievement is my daughter, which I adore she is thirteen now. I made it my goal to give her the things I never have, not just material, but emotional, love and support. When she was just two she would wrap her arms around me and that meant so much to me. I swore to myself I would do my best not to fail her or let her down. I am very proud of her!
My greatest tragedy was losing my brother, We had a special connection. I taught him nursery rhymes, We shared the same hurts and pains, He was like my son really. He heart was good.
A boy came up to me a his funeral, he was over weight and kinda unkept. People were staring at him. And he said my name is Jimmy, Your brother took up for me at school. The kids picked on me and called me names. And he help me. Tears filled my eyes.

greatest tragedy - so many to choose from (a lot of death around me in my life)...but probably losing my uncle (2nd dad to me...he raised me) and then my best friend in the world 2 months later.
greatest achievement - being saved...(asking Jesus into my heart)..and saving my nephew when we fell down the stairs together. my bro's kids are my life. i should have had my knees shattered, but i didn't. he was safe and w/out a scratch. i made sure of that.

my greatest tragedy was ordering my own brother to go into battle in the falklands war and seeing him shot dead in front of my eyes, and the greatest achievement was helping to remove the enemy and secure the islands and bring peace, in some ways along with other servicemen who died i feel he did not really die for nothing
