No!

The High Street has been dying for years because of high rent, poor staff training/customer service, high prices, limited stocks, poor/expensive parking and the fact that people are working longer hours than ever to pay their bills!

The internet on the other hand brings a multitude of products from all over the world. For example, my husband and I run an internet based business (www.wiltshire-ebiz.co.uk) and we have sold basket balls to America, golf bags to Switzerland, hair straighteners to Australia and plenty of other international sales plus of course a large volume of UK based sales.

Another side of the internet business that people often forget is that we cater for the disabled, elderley and people who live in the middle of nowhere. If they cannot get to a shopping centre, where do they shop - the internet of course!

Nope, the high street used to be a place where people would buy items such as produce and working clothes, and maybe a church or two.

It serves no purpose nowadays as all you have in it is clothes shops for the vain. mobile phone shops and record shops. Wheres the community service provided by them ?.

Let the high street die, modern greedy society doesnt deserve it.

It will return though, one day, but not soon

Yes it has it's a shame really people need people not sitting on a computer and ordering your shopping buying your presents, paying your bill e.t.c Plus the big superstores are taking the customers so the little shops have to put up their prices just to get by some don't even do that hence closure!!

it is one of the reasons, why pay money for a shop in one town when you can reach the whole world through the internet. some things will end up dying out on the high street, clothes shops and suchlike will not.

It must be gently strangling it, I'm sure, but the out of town shopping malls, whilst handy, must be giving a helping hand.
