It can be if you let it. I've done Vegas on zero dollars a day and $100 a day. Obviously I had more fun on the $100 a day than the zero a day. But it's all what you make of it.
If you're going to gamble, I strongly suggest you set yourself a limit and stick to it. Don't play more than you can afford to lose. Skipping paying the mortgage this month means you played too much!
All over the city, there's magazines for free, like "What's On" or "Showbiz" - often these have coupons for shows/drinks/dinners - take advantage of them if you can. Also ask if there's a coupon book when you check in - hotels don't often advertise them, but they have them.
Good luck and enjoy!

You're staying at the Bellagio and you're worried about money? Well, Las Vegas is not for people on a budget anymore, but some of us know what's still free, cheap or at least not expensive. Start by checking out http://www.cheapovegas.com for tips on what to do without spending much. If you avoid the big, $100-a-person shows and the fancy restaurants, you can get by.

I have to agree with Rogue. Your question baffles me because the Bellagio is one of the most expensive hotels out there.
But, to answer your questions, no it's not really expensive. It can be if you want it to. Vegas has just about everything you could think of in just about every price range. And most casinos will give you coupons books for free shrimp cocktails or the likes. And as long as you're sitting at a machine or a table, you'll get a free cocktail. Just please tip your server.
There's plenty of free entertainment along the Strip as well. You've got the pirates at Treasure Island, tigers, dolphins and volcanoes at Mirage, dancing fountains at Bellagio...and much much more. And, as for transportation, there's a free tram that runs the length of the Strip.

Food is not as expensive off the strip. That will probably be your biggest expense, other than the hotel room. Just don't eat dinner daily at the Bellagio and you'll be okay. haha
I recommend renting a car once you get here because the hotels seem really close together, but they are miles and miles apart. (Another expense, yes, but highly worth it).
If you don't gamble, you won't spend a whole lot of money in Vegas.

My brother is also going in October! I have been to Vegas about 4 times now. It can be very expensive depending on what all you want to do. I lost $350.00 in the first hour and a half I was there the first time. If you don't want to blow all of your money gambling there are tons of other things to do. There are allot of different shows to see and beleive me they are all excellent. These people are all profesionals. We rented a car for the day and drove out to Hoover Dam. Spent about half a day around the hotel pool having drinks and then going to the Stratoshpere and having drinks in the restaurant that is at the top of the building.....1,200 ft tall with a roller coaster on the very top if you are brave enough. Thats just a couple of ideas to do while you are there. Good Luck.....Have fun. It is an experience that everyone should try once.

Not if you know how to work it. Get yourself a package that covers both the flight and stay from an airline or a travel agent. The buffets in Casinos are incredibly good and low cost. Stay away from the slot machines!

As long as you are gambling your drinks are free. You have to pay for you meals, but they have buffets in every casino and they are very cheap. And your lodging, if you stay in a hotel off the strip they are a lot cheaper. Have fun!!
P.S. if you are wanting to see a good show, try and get tickets for Thunder Down Under, hot half naked men dancing around, mmmmm

well, as I know all the hotels in Las Vegas aren't expensive. I think about 70$ max. Your expenses are about the casino (the biggest expense). Las Vegas is so beautiful, you can travel around and see the outside shows of the hotels ( they aren't cost any money - You can see a 'real' volcano, the themes of the hotels, foundations of hotels, fireworks and more. There is not final activities.
I'm sure that you can enjoy there even not spending so much money. :)

It just depends on where you eat and what you do. You can get some good buffets for a reasonable price. If you sign up for a slot card at some places you get discounts or coupons. Just don't gamble away all your money ... chances are you won't win it back.
