Thank you for volunteering your time too!

My parents always encouraged us to volunteer in our community.

I recently received an award from a Social Service organization for 20 years on as a volunteer.

It would be great if more people did volunteer work. Even twice a month to some worthy organization would do wonders for someone less fortunate.

I try as much as I can, but my home and family comes first. In Islam charity is a great deed and gives a person many rewards so I try as much as I can. Remember charity can be something as small as a smile. I have two small children so it is hard for me, but I wish I could do more. I try and do things from my house, like I collect cloths for a cloths drive once a year. I try and help out with phone calls or print fliers for other charity activities. What ever I can do. It is so sad that the ones who want to help can't and the ones who can help don't want or care to.

I have a 2 yr old. I FULL HEARTED-LY took on the challenge and REWARD and GIFT to spend MY TIME with him, FOR HIM.....I don't EVER expect any favors or rewards in return. Asking if Im doing a good job as a mommy is simply sympathetic and not asking for rewards. My day will come when I have more time on my hands to pamper myself but I am MOST important to him on earth and GOD has me BLESSED by caring and raising my baby boy! My reward, *now that I got thinking about it* is that I am FULLY HEALTHY and BLESSED to have such a responcible job....I don't get ANY money and the reward I get is well more than any penny this world has EVER had man made. Give me the world and a child, my child, Id chose to Volunteer to rasie my child...any child ANYDAY!

i am a Vol. FF at my local Dept. and have been since i was 18yoa and i am now 23yoa...i have loved every minute of it. Our dept. was mostly old timers and they have now decided to hand it over to the younger generation so the majority of our dept is now younger people... It tends to keep them out of trouble and away from the wrong crowd if you know what i mean..a lot of people don't realize how important vol FF or rescue is until it is there loved one that is on the receiving end..."What if no one answered the call ? "
