How to submitted a website to Web Directories?

I have to submit a online pharmacy to web directories.
Is there any software which can do this for me. Is submission to web directories and search engines is same or different. How can i know about directories which are important.

It is not necessary to submit to search engines because they have bots which crawl the web looking for new sites (pages). Directories can help, yes, but not alone. They'll add a little bit of authority to your site. But links from directories don't award the same level of authority as links from, say, blogs that are relevant to your business, or news sites. Submit to directories because it's silly NOT to. It's fairly easy and the most directories will accept your link in a heartbeat. But make sure you write new content and form relationships with bloggers, etc. too, so they'll start linking to you.

The second difference – no spiders – means that you must go and submit your URL to the search directory, rather than sit and wait for the spider to come to your site. Fortunately, this is done only once for each directory, so it is not that bad.

first of all if you are using a free domain (geocities, freenet, googlepages...etc) there are a special editors and publishers attach the host system then just you have to brows and attach all you need (images, Documents...etc), in case you are using your own directory (domain) when buy the domain they will give you the user name and password to let you access to your account and Upload your web entities easily by browsing your resource
and off course there are many soft wares help you to publish you pages after design like MS publisher
just you have to make the required settings
