First course of action you should take ASAP:

No More Aspartame (the only sweetener on the market at the moment which doesn't poison you is a thing called 'Steva', not that I've used it)

No More Caffeine (does your nut in!)

Drink at least 2 litres of bottled still mineral water per day. Anyone that tells you bottled water is a hype doesn't know what they are talking about. Water filters are, on the whole, useless for the kind of filtration you require.

I was a stressed out tense and nervous wreck 3 years ago, and a black belt at anxiety attacks. It worked for me, and I see it working for others on a daily basis.

Could be toxins in your body not being identified and flushed through your system. If you are overweight, fat tissue stores toxins. It could be that your endocrine system is all to-pot. Target something in your life which makes you tense, and eliminate it from your life.

Contact me and I'll send you some information which should be very useful. I don't charge by the way.

Scientifically validated and completely free of killer drugs, chemicals .... and all that other prescribed garbage.
Whatever you decide, good luck!

Lavender is very good

But I would also look at non-herbal remedies, people get very hung up on herbal remedies thinking they are better for you.

St John's wort for example is contraindicated by many other medications and can cause more harm than good. Depending on the severity of your stress you should talk to your doctor about your situation.

Valerian.
But you should address the cause of the tension, nerve and stress.
Exercise also helps. Caffeine (and tea) could make it worse.
Good luck.
