Not the best of ideas, it might feel better when you do it but will you still have to share the room? Would not be easy, plus I tend to have this thing called guilt that happens after things like this.
Ask them for the rent and if they still can't pay up tell them you will have to sell their stuff. Give them 2 days to pay then off to the porn brokers.

Beating people up just causes more trouble than it is worth.If you injure an adversary,you could be charged with assault.
The usual solution is that you evict them and keep some of their stuff until they come up with what they owe you.Make sure you get the keys back too.
Alternatively they pawn their stuff and pay off what they owe.Or you find them a job.

Ten years ago I would have answered this by saying give them a walloping but I've mellowed with age so I'd say it's good to talk-communicate with them and try and find an amicable solution.
