Judging by how the world has gone overboard with all this PC stuff, they would probably be given a free house, a place to park their space ship and all this near to a Scientology Temple to cavort with their worshipers.

If there were such things as aliens, i don't see the reasoning behind attacking them unless they prevoke us. We as humans tend to shoot first and ask questions later. I say we should give them a chance.

it would be stupid not to give them a friendly welcome- we must assume that since they have the technology to travel to an occupied planet far away from their own (humanity has not achieved this yet) that they probably have the technology to obliterate us with no probs, besides which i think it would be fun having aliens as neighbours

I think they would take one look at the state in which our world is in and see the mess and destruction we cause and just leave us to it!
I'm sure they would, as may of already happened know the kind of welcome to expect should they pay a visit.
