You should probably not just up & buy a guy a pet, or anyone for that matter. Well, I mean, unless they have specifically said they wanted something in particular. Even then though, the best thing to do would be to take them to the pet store & say, hey, I'm gonna buy you something, what would you like? Good luck.

pets are not gifts, and should not be gotten for a person, for any reason.

.. how about goldfishs which the goldfish wouldn't take much space and time to look after, and it wouldnt require excerise.. as well =)
