Women should check their breast for lumps and discharge.

It is normal for women's breasts to get tender and lumpy at different stages of the month - these changes will occur every month and are not normally something to worry about.

However if you notice new lumps in your breast or around your armpit you should go to a doctor.
If the skin starts to pucker or dimple or appear different in any of these areas or the nipple area go to the doctor.
If you get any nipple discharge go to the doctor.
Anything else around the breast or armpit area that doesn't feel right go to a doctor.

I should emphasise that lots and lost of women find lumps and the vast majority of these are not cancerous - they can just be water filled cysts or a variety of things.

I know its a bit scary to go to the doctor but go and get it checked out.
If there is a problem and they catch it early they can sort it out much much easier.
If you are nervous take a friend with you to the doctors.

Good luck.

Any kind of pain or soreness in any part of the breast and also during self examination you feel some kind of lump with or without pain. These symptoms have to be thoroughly examined by a specialist immediately and all tests and scan taken to check if it is cancer.
