I am currently finishing my last week at my job as a bartender and am currently in college. I would like to become a mail carrier in the future. The local newspaper needs a person to run the route, and I am considering applying. I figure it would be a way to make a little money and look good on my resume when I try for the postal service. Any thoughts on the subject welcome.

well, if you aare all about getting up at 230 a.m. to have the papers delivered by 4 a.m. sounds like it may be feasible. dont know where you are, but here, the pay is dependent on how many papers/how big the route is and willl you be delivering just 5 days, or all 7? what will be your mode of transportation to deliver the papers? you will need to consider the cost of gas and wear and tear on the vehicle, as well as the extra insurance for using your vehicle as a "car for hire", a friend of mine did that for 1 month, after all the neccessary expenditures, she made a whopping $270.00. i used to be a bartender and could make that in a night in tips.
