It checks your blood pressure. The best blood pressure is 120/80, so if you are young, then if it is much higher, see your doctor. The blood pressure monitor is a cuff that you put around your arm, usually your right arm, as that is side your heart is on. You either squeeze the little rubber ball attached to the cuff and the monitor, and when it is tight on your arm, it will start messing your blood pressure. The monitor tells you what the reading is for that time. You want to put the arm up if you can and don't just let it hang down, it reads it better that way. Good luck. You can get them at the drug store for about $50 or under. That was a few years ago, and also depends on what kind you get. Mine is a digital read out, so I like that better than the others.

It's what it says it is.
It's a machine that monitors your blood pressure. You can buy hand held ones for use at home, you have the digital ones in hospital or you have the manual ones at your doctors.

Any of the above has a cuff that goes around your wrist or upper arm. This is then inflated and it tells you how much blood is pumping around your body (being pumped by the heart).

Normal blood pressure for a healthy person was 120/70 but that has changed reently.

What is normal for one person, can be high or low for another. You will have needed to have your blood pressure read over a period of time, to know what is average for you.

Hope that helps :-)
