Because let face it when the blood is rushing to your heart and its pounding at your breast then you are as simple as a 4 year old . you hear what you want them to say see only them and you tell them what your confused mind is thinking .

The heart is sentimental; the brain logical. These are totally different in nature and cannot appear on the same page. Its not just you. However, with a little though in important or delicate situations you could silence one while applying the other. Sometimes you could take a middle stand and weigh what both the heart and the head have to say. The result of your action is ultimately what will affect you and someone else. Whatever be your decision, it should be a win-win situation always. Thats difficult but not impossible.

I don't know the answer to that question. But I do have some thoughts on the matter.
I think that the heart doesn't function the same way the brain does. Well, duh. What I mean is, the heart feels what it wants to feel, the brain thinks things though then maybe lets the body feel. The brain always thinks things through a number of different ways, the heart just one.

Forgive me for being so literal but the heart never has a say in anything. It's just a pump sitting there allowing us to function.
What we perceive as the heart is actually a part of the brain that voices its opinion and may or may not always be right.
For a rational person it is the devil's advocate in their heads, but they do consider going with its advice, thus accepting it to be a part of them.
Our doubts and second thoughts need a forum to voice their opinion, a voice from the heart that everyone listens to? Well, we allow ourselves that liberty.

The brain is working 24hrs aday, so does the heart, but when it comes to decision making, the heart will on deal with matters such as love, forgivesness, joy etc. am not sure if this is what u meant but i hope i was of help
