How curious. I heard a pastor on television a few years ago...wish I had taped it, but he was talking about the world ending according to God's plan with details taken from the Bible..many, many details he had researched for years and he had come to the conclusion that the rapture ("end of time", whatever you want to call it) would occur in that year. I know nothing, but he impressed me and I am not easy to impress, and have kept that information in my head since. Creepy, but, hey, who knows?

No it's not the end of time. Nor is it the end of the Mayan Long Count calendar. It's just the end of the 12th Baktun (a Baktun is 396 years long).
The calendar predicts NOTHING. It's a calendar. Do you look at your calendar and think it's predicting Christmas Day on December 25th?
Oh, no my wall calendar ENDS on 12-31-2006, it must be the end of the world too. Don't be silly.

If you want to be more precise, the Mayans predicted December 21, 2012. I think this other prophet also predicted it--Edgar Casey. But, from my interpretation, it is not the end, but a new beginning.
The Bible also reveals the end times but states that no one knows except God himself.
Don't try to prognosticate the future. Live a good life.

i dont think so, predictions are done by human and no human are 100% accurate or 100% right. Even prophets were human, they were made prophets by normal people is bcs of their high knowledge, charm and skills. Forget about 2012, i can be right now, it can be tomorrow at may be in the next 1000years, we cannot say precisely. So the best thing to do is life the day to the fullest so there is no regrets.

People freaked about the changeover to the 2nd millennium, too. I just don't think anyone can predict an exact date for that kind of thing. Yes, we may have something very destructive come in the future, but that could be any time.

No it is not the end of time.Time can never end. We got to know abt time only when we were born so it is a kind of manifestation. So even if this world get's over time will still remain but to no vail.
How ever if you mean to say world one can never say exactly when will it end.All can only predict bt only god almighty knows when will it happen exactly.

just live your life as meaningful as you can. to predict when the world will end is a waste of time, they have been predicting since 1800s and the world did not end as predicted.
