In our language here in Subcontinen, be it punjabi, hindi, urdu etc.... we use gender for objects.....
The car feminine, large trucks are considered masculine...
Computer/ TV/ Fan etc.. r considered masculine,
But water pump machine is considered feminine....
Why??

It is the same as ships and boats, they are also considered feminine.
Historically, in languages that use feminine and masculine genders for their words, any item that can be considered a vessel - something which can contain something would be feminine. It's all to do with women having wombs that can contain a baby.
Even though the English language does not have genders, we follow the same ideas, it's not a rule - just common usage.

Because generally speaking cars and the loving of cars is usually a guy thing, and they do not want to love something that is considered masculine.

There are some people who refer to their cars as her but others use male names. There is no set custom as far as I am aware.
