Do you mean their post code?

Anyway, Bromley isn't in London. It's in Kent.

I think is because London is expanding it's geographic size and to accommodate to people's need, more and more people starts to live in Bromley and work in London. For that reason, it needs to have a better network system and a more developed transport system.
I am also not too sure, if Bromley is part of Kent and why the London Bus from the London Transport also goes there?
One more doubt, if i am not wrong, the underground doesn't go to Bromley as i am not living in UK for 3 years time already, i don't have the updated infos.

Bromley is in the County of Kent, but is also in the London Borough of Bromley.

The London postal areas (e.g. EC4, SW19, SE9) were designated long before metropolitan London expanded to its present administrative boundaries to include areas like Bromley, Croydon and Bexley.

I think this is because Bromley has a BR post code and not an SE one...

This makes Bromley a part of Kent and not South East London.

Bromley and Bexley are slightly odd London boroughs which have London dialling (at least Bexley does) and Kent postcodes. London's postcodes were first allocated in the 1850s; I'm not sure what Bromley and Bexley's status was then.

It's unusual, but it is down to Bromley Council. You have to remember that London is so big that it does have councils for some rather small areas.

It stand to reason that smaller places do not need to put the postcode on street signs - Bromley is all TN26 (I think?) so why differentiate one road from another, whereas in London there are many different postcodes cheek-by-jowel. Also, there are less chances of getting duplicate road names in a small town or village, whereas in a large city, there may be ten roads of the same name but in different postcodes.

Bromley is in the county of Kent - the postal code starts with 'BR'. Croydon, Surrey also has that 'is it or isn't it' bugbear.

Bromley's postcode letters are BR. As in the old expression "Brrr... it's rather bromley today".
