It depends on the circumstances. Are you in a committed relationship? Are you financially stable? Are you mature enough to handle a child? These are just a few of the questions you have to ask yourself. Your 17, do you know if your partner will stick around after the baby is born? I got pregnant with my first child at 17. I then got pregnant 2 1/2 months after I had her. The second time I got pregnant, 4 of my friends were pregnant as well. Out of the 5 of us, I'm the only one that is still with the father of my children. I'm 1 of the 2 that isn't on welfare. I'm 1 out of 2 that doesn't still live with my parents. Having a child is the most serious commitment you'll ever have to make. Think about everything before hand.
P.S. Make SURE you finish school. If I could graduate high school with a 4.0, you can finish.

It really depends on the mentality of the 17 year old really. I was talking to a lady the other day who said her grandaughter was having her second child at 17 because she wanted her family young so she can start a career younger than most.
I thought that sounded like a very good idea. I was 27 when I had my firsy & I am 34 know & still haven't sussed out where I would like my career to head.
I would say that there are plenty of other things that need to be considered before judging age i.e stablility, finance, childcare etc.

Too young is 10 - 17 years old with no education or means to support a child throughout their whole life of needing to be raised until college or marriage.

17 is still too young in my books but if you think you are ready for a baby and your partner feels the same i say go for it im only 19 but have been trying a long time with my boyfriend we know its the right thing for us and we are now deciding to get married. if you think you have the money the living conditions and the love to bring a baby into the world then id say go for it good luck**baby dust**

actually age is not really the issue. you can be in the late 20s and still be childish. but for me 17 is really too young. i had my 1st boyf at 17 (who is now my husband, he was 18). we got married at 26 and had a child the next year. i still feel a bit too young then cuz i stil wanna do a lot of things. but i got over it and our son is now 5. and i love every second we spend together...

I think 17 is too young. I had my first child at 23 and I now wish I would have waited until about 28.
You have lots of time - WAIT!!!!!

i think you should have your children while you are young as they are far easier to cope with. but you should be in a stable relationship and be mature enough to cope with the stresses that children bring

Wait until you have an established career, and you have lived as an adult.Do things now when you're younger, because having a kid will make things very difficult.
