I'm not accusing personally of anything. I'll just go by the definition in a dictionary, since you are asking for the definition of a criminal.
crim‧i‧nal /ˈkrɪmənl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[krim-uh-nl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective 1. of the nature of or involving crime.
2. guilty of crime.
3. Law. of or pertaining to crime or its punishment: a criminal proceeding.
4. senseless; foolish: It's criminal to waste so much good food.
5. exorbitant; grossly overpriced: They charge absolutely criminal prices.
–noun 6. a person guilty or convicted of a crime.
I think going by all these, especially #6, i guess that makes u a former criminal. but if you're not living by way of crime now, then ur not a criminal.. just dont get into trouble again!

well it is not anything to brag about for sure...i do understand though at times we are innocent...i would try to stay out of trouble though , even a misdemeanor...they will add up some day and they may send you to prison...i do not think that will be fun...i have had 2 sons in there and it does hurt the parents and other family members.. i would not go around saying i am ex con, which you have never been to prison...i actually said once myself i did not want anything to do with someone that has went to prison and now i still have on son in there and just got one out...i do not think the justice system is fair hardly at all...but we have to live with it...but i have sure changed my tune and fast...people do not understand or care really about what we get into..it is up to us to do the best we can with our lives...i am very sorry for my attitude back then....and i think it is good you do not make a living out of crime because i do not think it would be worth it...good luck to you...they even got me for a under-the limit-dwi-----figure that one---but i did not know i had never even considered driving after having a drink before...but i felt i had to this once...and they said i was drunk and it was under-the-limit...i got 2 years unsupervised probation and i do not drink at all now...cost me lots of money i could not afford....well i do not consider you a criminal anyway...but stay away from trouble....

It depends on whether or not you are still doing the things that made you go to jail. If you are committed to living a crime-free life, then I would say you are no longer a criminal. People CAN and DO change. However, the severity of the crimes is meaningless.

DUDE, What is your problem...why are you so dang worried about "looking" like a CRIMINAL, certain amount of time in jail is that being a criminal??? WHY??
Grow up!
get your act together!
And stop trying to figure out WHY do you LOOK like a criminal!
And stop worrying if you have been to jail, does that make you a criminal even IF they were misdemeanors. Jail is for a REASON....so Im guessing from your RESENT QUESTIONS....you are doing SOMETHING to feel GUILTY of.
If your not in jail, you must be FINE! gosh!

being a criminal does not mean that you make a living "by way of crime". A criminal is one who commited a crime or crimes. You have commited several crimes, probably more than you were convicted of, and therefore, you are a criminal. Just because you say it doesn't make you a criminal, doesnt mean anything. Websters dictionary says otherwise.

Going to jail doesn't make you a criminal. Being a criminal is what got you put in jail. Many criminals have never been to jail. They just haven't been caught. So, yes, you are a criminal. Although, probably not a very good criminal. Maybe if you get better, you won't get caught.

Naming a person is always in a relative sense. Suppose you were to visit a country which is at regular wars with yours, you will be an INSTANT hero there !
We comply with law to escape a situation, and get a good name.
Not really that all are good people, or non-criminals just because they were not jailed. But we do need some system , though with loop holes, defects, to run the society in an orderly way !
So, please do not bear any grudge, and live happily, and if possible, also comply with law.

Well, Webster says, A criminal is "one who has committed a crime" or "a person who has been convicted of a crime" So I guess that makes you a criminal. Sorry.
