I got one i wouldnt recomend at all they begin with a P and end in Bell and are the easynote version we brought 2 the same both have faults, both had problems with the cd writer both batteries are C**p and ones screen keeps going off and to beable to use it again you have to take away its power but since the batteries dont work pulling the plug it very quick and one of the holes where the power lead go in dosnt work properly so the computer shuts down due to no power. The computers are about 14 months old.
really dissapointed in them and would not buy this brand again.

Dont buy one from woolworths . Toshibas are good every thing is modular so they are easy to repair if they go wrong which hardly ever happens .Alot of the cheeper makes
the parts are solderd.HPcompaq are good cause they are aimed at the buisiness market so they are built better .The Toshiba im using was made out of two broken(as bits snaped off) laptops my hubbie just swaped the bits around to make a good one. It only cost about 40 pounds in all.

I've never heard a bad word about Toshiba, they've been making them for years and they last for years. They may be a bit more then some of the cheap ones but they're worth it. Dont buy Sony just for the name, there are a lot of people out there who can't see past the name. My Toshiba runs like new and I've had it three years

get an Acer aspire 5670 its got roughly the same specs that u listed , but the HDD capacity is 20GB more, n its got centrino duo and an ATI X1400 graphics chip, as well as some bundled software (acer empowering technology, NTI cd and dvd maker, norton antivirus 06)
as for battery life its reasonable but slightly less than a typical laptop, but thats normal considering how fast it performs.

Dell inspieron or Toshiba Tecra A7 it can support up 4GB of ram it's really awesome, dvd reader/writer dual layer, 80GB HDDS, duo core process, it's awesome but the battery life is like too short 2.5hours..

Good luck

If I had, had more money I would have gone for the Sony Viao or that one with the apple lit up on its lid. Remember though, Dell laptops have combusted with faulty Sony batteries! Oo-er!

Dell, it's economic and the quality is great.
Sony's are over priced.
HP/Compaq are made of cheap components
Acer is good too, good prices but they break too soon.
