sometimes a blue screen pops up and says "begin dump of virtual memory"

and a bunch of other words and numbers.

i know its not the blue screen of death, cause i have no viruses on my comp.

but lately, its been freezing when i run windows media player and and web browser together. or when i look at vids on youtube sometimes.

im guessing it has something to do with my graphics card, but im not sure. does anyone know what this means?

The BSOD (blue screen of death) has nothing (usually) to do with Viruses - where did you get that from??

The bit about "beginning virtual memory dump" means that windows has encounted a problem and is attempting to copy anything you had in ram back to the file on the hard drive where it came from - this is windows' way of trying to make sure you don't lose anything.

The reason it gives you this blue screen can be due to many, many reasons.....but usually it will give you some more info, like the name of the file that caused the problem.

The next time it happens, pay close attention to the error message and see what file caused the error. Quite often it is a file related to the graphics system.

Try reinstalling the drivers for the card and perhaps the DirectX drivers as well - or update them if they aren't the lastest versions.

No not a graphics card problem, well this is a common problem with windows media, to be honest this is a sound card problem, when there is a false in any of the hardware this blue screen pops and freezes the pc until u restart it... i advise you to check your hardware and to reinstall your sound card driver maybe it will solve the problem.

Good luck

Right click on my Computer ---> properties ---.Advanced --->performance settings ---> Advanced ---->Virtual Memory --> Change, And type for greater value

However, if you are asking because you saw it before playing some game online, then it probably means the website needs to check your system to see if you have enough computer power (processing speed, ram, video, and ect.) to play the game.
