Which one was best, now with a historical perspective?

Blur. Their music was really original and they had more personality as a band because they didn't take themselves too seriously, so the songs shone every time.

Oasis heavily copied the style of The Beatles and John Lennon, all their songs sounded the same and because their biggest fans were themselves, it just put their music into perspective in the end rather than up on the pedestal where they thought it belonged.

I think Blur went out on a high and ended when the music was still good, plus Damon Albarn is now scoring hits with Gorillaz, which proves he can successfully experiment with a different, fresh style of music, whereas Oasis have just been churning out the same old stuff which has become tired and boring, and they haven't really evolved as well with the changing music scene. I also doubt that Noel Gallagher would be as successful as Damon is now if he ever embarked on a similar project.

Blur by far - Oasis were/ are just plugging out the same chords and whining vocals by Liam Gallagher. Blur were more experimental, innovative and exciting. Whilst they may have lost in the Top of the Pop Stakes to Oasis, there musical integrity will always be intact. Which is more than can be said for Oasis, who regurgitate old Beatles riffs, that were overrated to begin with.

I liked both id probably go for blur as they really did do some classic tunes in the 90's and werent scared to try new sounds where as oasis tended to be repetitive.

Blur were better producers of 'popular pop', but Oasis, unfortunately will probably stand the test of time. In the end I think Gorillaz are probably 'best'

I'm sure someone asks this question every day. Half the people say Oasis and half say Blur.

Blur definately not for the music but for the dignity of the band and the way they treated their fans unlike oasis who would not give two monkeys about their fans if they were infighting and Liam will storm off with the sulks
