I'm literally running all day long at my job helping people (public sector job) and am still trying to look put together and professional but after a few hours any makeup I had on is gone. I heard primer is good for keeping it on longer. Any advice to combat the shines?

Smashbox Cosmetics' has a good primer called "Photo Finish" which makes your skin feel realy smooth and soft, and looks very matte. They also have several different colours depending on what type of corrector you need, ie. if you have dark circles or redness.

start out with a good skin care program. wash and moisturize your skin first, then use an oil control foundation. you'll find that your color will last longer. i love using the Mary Kay basic set!
you can use an eye primer so your eye color lasts all day.
try using beauty blotters if you get oily during the day. this will take away the extra shine with out removing your makeup

Try using Smashbox. They are a bit pricey but is good to try. If you ever heard of the store Sephora, you can even go in there try the product for free and then buy it. The best thing is, if you decide to take it back, they will refund your money no questions, ask.

Smashbox makes a good one. I would recommend using oil blotting papers throughout the day too.
