yes magnesium sulfate is a salt, but magnesium has lots of other salts as well,
magnesium salts is a category, and magnesium sulfate is a member of that category, (salts of metals are formed when they react with acids)

I found a lot oflinks on magnesium sulfate, but none of them say that it is commonly known as magnesium salt.

magnesium salt might actually be magnesium chloride

Generally, salts are chlorides, so magnesium salt would most likely be magnesuim chloride
