A lot actually. You body secretes adrenaline and cortisol when you are under stress so your baby's heart would beat faster from the adrenaline. The cortisol would not be good for the baby either.

Best thing is to limit stress as much as possible.Listen to relaxing music. Hold your CD player near your tummy so the baby can listen with you. Take deep, calming breaths. Set aside some time to relax each day like this with you baby for an hour. When you breathe deeply and slowly, your heart rate goes down and good endorphins are sent thru your bloodstream to you and the baby.

Take care and congratulations!

Stress could in extreme cases bring on labour early, however to my knowledge there are no great side effects from stress....either way you should relax and try to enjoy this special time in your life.....nothing else is as important than you and your child at this time

they said that anything the mother experience the unborn child absorbs it. so if you are stressed, maybe the baby will become stressed to. at the time of my pregnancy, i'm so stressed, sad, depressed, always crying. they told me to stop thinking sad things because the baby feels the mother's feelings.
i also delivered my baby only on his 7th month. so i think it causes premature labor.
