It's a high-risk trade that attracts risk-takers, and there is going to be a much higher rate of casualties than, say, C.P.A's.

One obvious cause of death involves transportation, and a musician on tour greatly increases the likelyhood of such an accident. Death by drugs is also common as the rigors of the road cause many performers to self-medicate to keep up the pace.

By and large, great entertainers that die tragically appear to be everyday people exposed to incredible pressures. People close to SRV and Elvis, for example, were always impressed by their genuine caring personalities in private.

Marc Bolan! Ugly car crash. Joe Strummer, heart attack. And I'll take Buddy Holly over Valenz that's for sure, who died in the same plane crash. Jimmy Page is still alive and so is Clapton and lots of classic greats, so I don't see any connection to it. Just the fact that they traveled a lot and most did drugs and were in the public eye. Hazardous I supose, lol. It's A Long Way To The Top If You Wanna Rock N' Roll!

Isn't this list too short? Shouldn't you have included all the musicians that have died at their peak (singers, drummers, etc.)?

Where do you think they are now? That is the real question!
