Maybe you should forget about it and wait for PS3 and buy it. Unless you really love your console, you should find a technician to repair your PS2.

Sounds like the disk is slipping/skipping. Open it up and check for the spring that holds the disk in place.

take it to a small electronics repair shop, contact ps2 and make arrangements for them to fix it (you pay shipping too) or if you are in IL maybe my hubby can fix it. He fixes them all the time and we get ones ppl dont want that are broke for spare parts.

If you have the original paperwork, they have the # to call if something happens to your ps, you can send it back & they'll repair it for you mine was free of charge. That is how I got mine repaired.

How about going outside for a while? (Don't worry about that huge bright thing in the sky---it's called "the sun". Just don't look directly at it or you'll hurt your eyes.)
