If they are sincere about working out their conflicts, then instead of correcting faults, they need a shift of paradigm. As long as there are faults to be places, there is always struggles for power between a husband and a wife.

Rather look at the situation under a different lense. No one is at fault, they just haven’t found a way to effectively communicate and interact with each other. Neither are to be blamed, and yet both are responsible and empowered for finding a better way to communicate.

A good therapist should be able to facilitate the process. A good book to read on this topic, "Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples" by Harville Hendrix.

Practice walking on water, raising the dead, understanding David Lynch movies, and peforming other miracles before you tackle something this difficult.

If you still want to try, then all you can do is patiently, lovingly, and probably repeatedly, explain why the fault bothers you and suggest an alternative behavior. Better yet, offer to correct one of your faults for everyone they correct.

"Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time." Mark Twain.

You can't. Usually it's just part of who they are and you need to accept them that way. Or you can address the faults with them and let them know how you feel about it. Like...leaving their clothes on the floor....or....not picking up after themselves. Stuff like that. But if it's something major, then...you know...like I said.

Make sure you show lots of love, and softly tell them the things they need to work on. Also make sure you've highlighted some of their great qualties. But you can't change them, they have to be willing to change themselves.

You can't. Everyone is who they are, and the only thing that can change that is themselves.
