In Loving Memory
DANIEL WAYNE SMITH
1984-2006

September 10th, 2006 - Today, our dear friend Anna Nicole Smith lost her son, Daniel. Many of the team members at TRIMSPA were fortunate to have shared time with Daniel over the past 3 years and know that he was Anna's pride and joy, and deeply loved. He will be missed.

Please keep Anna Nicole and Howard K. Stern in your thoughts and prayers. We also request that media allow Anna and Howard, and the many who loved Daniel, time to mourn his loss. Please address any media inquiries to Robin Bonnema at TRIMSPA's Public Relations department.

At this moment, no additional details or cause of death is known.

Nothing is sadder than a life cut short. Our heart genuinely goes out to Anna Nicole during this very difficult time.

Update:

Anna Nicole just posted this message on her website, AnnaNicole.com:

In Loving Memory
DANIEL WAYNE SMITH
1/22/1986 - 9/10/2006

On September 7th Anna Nicole gave birth to a healthy 6 pound, 9 ounce baby girl. Her son Daniel was in the Bahamas with her to share in the joy of his baby sister when he passed away suddenly on the morning of September 10th. We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being. Please do not make any press inquiries at this time so that Anna Nicole can grieve in peace

It amazes me that people can pick the worst of times to act ignorant and totally insensitive. Why in God's name would one ask who was he or refer to her in the light of the big boob chick. It is insulting to even think such a thing, less to take the time to write it. Why would someone make up such a horrible thing to tie it in with the death of her husband and the court issues. You guys are total a--holes! You should be ashamed of yourselves. I figure you must be getting high and you don't know any better. Hopefully you won't have a child or family member that you love dearly pass away and some jerk like youselves make mockery of it. Maybe it would do you good. Remember, what goes around, comes around.Do us a favor and go slither back into your dark hole in the ground.
Meantime, prayers go out to Anna and her family. It most certainly is a major loss for any parent to experience the loss of their child at any age. We, the fans and supporters of Anna Nicole, remain loyal and will mourn with her as human beings should do for one another. It amazing that God knew it was his time to go and yet did not leave her alone. He blessed her with a daughter to love in almost the midst of his death. He knows what we need most. Though Anna would have loved to have both of her children, God loved him most. RIP Daniel and Anna, our prayers go out to you and your family..
Daniel had to be special, we share the same birthdate...

An autopsy was performed Monday. On Tuesday, Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill said that based on preliminary findings, "the cause of death is not natural." But, she said, "we wish to reserve [announcing] the cause of death at this time," adding that a toxicology results and a full autopsy report will be released by the end of the week.

Virgill said an inquest will take place afterward and her staff will interview all "relevant witnesses," including Anna Nicole Smith, hospital workers and flight attendants, to develop an official timeline.

The coroner's statements came in the wake of a story in the Nassau Guardian that Daniel Smith suffered a "massive heart attack" and that antidepressants had been found in his system. The newspaper said that Daniel was seen "vomiting uncontrollably" shortly before his death.

Police on Tuesday sought to downplay the Guardian report.

Anna Nicole has had her share of hard times, and I was happy to hear that she was expecting. She deserved some happiness in her life. Now just three short days after having her second child, she loses her first. No one should ever experience that, and whether anyone likes her not, I certainly hope that everyone has enough decency to allow her to grieve for her son and feel joy for the birth of daughter. None of us should judge, and I wish her nothing but happiness in the future, and hope that she can, with time, heal from the loss of her son.

I am not a fan of Anna but I am sad to hear that her joy of her baby daughter was cut short by the loss of her son. I am very sad to hear this. I can't believe this happened to her. I feel bad because I lost a baby almost 5 months ago and I turned on the TV and heard Anna was pregnant and I had made the comment that how was she more deserving than me to be pregnant! It was selfish and horrible to say and now to lose her son after the joy of her daughter had to be heartbreaking. I feel awful for saying that, no one should have to suffer the loss of a child.

Its a very hard thing to have happen but I was always told things happen for a reason. Everyone has their time. They also say when one comes into this life, another leaves. Its just sad that it happened to have been her and both of her children.

How terrible to have the joy of a new child's birth overshadowed by another child's death.

A death of a child is worse than death for the parent themselves.
