There has been no news on Sammy Sosa so where is he, and who is he playing for?

On February 15, 2006, Sosa's agent Adam Katz stated:

"We're not going to put him on the retirement list. We decided that [not putting him on that list] was the best thing to do. But I can say, with reasonable certainty, that we've seen Sammy in a baseball uniform for the last time."

On July 2, 2006, Sosa was interviewed by The Korea Times on a trip to Korea where he accompanied the President of the Dominican Republic. Despite the sayings of his agent, he said:

"I am not retired. I am waiting for my time, to see if it is a chance for me to come back next year. I am always ready."

If Sosa does not appear in another major league game, he will be eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame in the election whose results will be announced in January 2011.:-)

Sammy Sosa on the verge of being released by the Cubs suddenly learned how to hit. In fact that season he was not scheduled to even be the starter any more. An injury to the guy who was supposed to replace him was the only reason Sosa wasn't sitting on the bench or the minors. Teams were tired of waiting for him to live up to his potential and he was too old to be a prospect any more.

Loads of steroids later. Busted twice for corked bats. Possibly under indictment from the feds for lying under oath with 2 pretty horrible injury filled seasons the O's finally released Sosa. Even in his heyday with the Cubs Sosa was a hassle on the bench. In the midst of a pennent race he could not resist chasing McGwire and his production sagged despite the higher number of HRs per at bat. That was Sosa in his best year. Sosa did avoid breaking both the single season and career KO records but not by much. So Sosa who wasn't in his prime is not going to offer a team much. Only the sheer frequency of his HRs created reason to keep such a huge ego and otherwise worthless bat on the team. Defensively he could have been worse but was deffintely not an asset in the field. So why play him if he can't hit 50 HRs?

Sammy Sosa has seemingly retired. He was offered a minor league deal February 2005 by the Washington Nationals, but he turned it down and hasn't been in uniform since. Some say that he's holding out for a major's offer, but he's been declining and injury prone since his last season with the Chicago Cubs. He could come back, but unless he has kicked the injury bug and has a rejuvenation, he'll never get a big money contract again.

you're unhappy, yet you're no longer a baseball fan while you're leaving at the back of your group like that. besides, right here is what I do. i'm keen on the Brewers, 40 3 years, 3 submit season appearances. I p.c.. out yet another club precise now, that I parent will make the submit season. enable's say Yankees, Giants or Rangers. Now I keep an eye fixed on that club in the process the season, and in the event that they make the submit season, i visit persist with them. in spite of the fact that (and that's important). i do no longer take credit for being keen on that club with the aid of fact this is blatant bandwagoning,

He's hanging his head in shame. Couldn't hit HRs in a ban box like Camden Yards....hmmmmmm. Seriously he is out of baseball. Markakis has his jersey number now. Sosa jersies were being put on clearence racks in Baltimore and it's been reported that fans bought them and removed Sosa's name. They now have a cheap jersey for a good rookie player!

He had a deal with the Washington senators but he retired because he was not going to be used as a full time player and he only getting paid league minimum. I dought he will ever play ball again..

I think the steroid issue got a little too hot for him so he retired. I guess the "O's still own the rights to him but I doubt that he will play again. Without the steroids he's still went down hill pretty fast.

He's old and can't play without the steroids. I heard something about him wanting to make a comeback but I don't know if anyone will give him a chance.

I believe he is back home in the Dominican Republic awaiting an offer that suits him. With steroids being very much out of fashion, it may never come.
