Through Noahs obediance in building the Ark he saved himself and his wife, three sons and their wives, thus saving humanity from extinction along with everything else in the Flood.
Noahs sons were Shem, Ham and Japtheth

Shem is the eldest son of Noah, ergo Noah is the father of Shem. I don't know about "huminity".
