I lived in the US for school seasons in the early 90's late 80's and I hated bud but I drank it anyway .....

I had a friend come up to Canada I was pretty happy to be able to give him what I thought was good beer -

He had the same reation to Cdn beer as I did to American beer - "this is donkey ****"

So is it all about what you are used to then? I like German beer I like British beer I like beer and if American beer is all thats left I drink that -

Just curious

At one point very new to the US I was driving though North Carolina trying to be discret and not be seen as the forigner - I listened to the guy next to me order a beer and ordered the same (the under cover Canadian I was trying to be ) The guy brings it I drink it and choke on it and I guess have a look of disgust on my face - the waiter looks at me and says "sp what part of Canada are you from" ?

no one stated the very undeniable reality that Canada is a MONARCHY, no longer a republic. the authentic of State is Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada. The Governor-favourite represents her. in the course of the yank conflict for Independence 20-25 of the white colonials sided with the King, about 500,000. 10% went to Canada and some 15,000 others went to the united kingdom or the Caribbean. some 12,000 blacks were taken both as slaves or freed. those who went to Canada were referred to as Loyalists or the KIng's unswerving individuals. yet another 30,000 immigrated from the States to Ontario in the course of the 1790s and early 1800s. The earliest settlers in Nova Scotia were 8000 New Englanders who went there contained in the 1750s and 60s to interchange the ousted French settlers or Cajuns who were settled contained in the 13 southern colonies or went to Lousiana. till about 1830 English-conversing Canada had a reported American style by using origins of the inhabitants and before great scale immigration from Britain and eire starting up about 1820 presented a more desirable 'British' experience. it truly is why Canadians and individuals esp. contained in the better American states are so similar.

That's kinda relative to your tastes. I have some Russian beer I have liked, and some I did not. As well I dont like Bud Light (american) but I love Bud (also american). Just depends on what your taste for beer is.
Of course then there is "cold and free" and in that case...
it doest matter where it's from!

Samuel Addams makes good American beer. Budweiser is cheap and not a good example. German beers are the best though.

I think it is like anything else in the world. It is up to personal taste. Some people love Bud and hate everything else. Others won't touch anything except German lager. Personally, I won't drink any of it since I do not like the taste of beer period. I prefer vodka.

It's all personal preference I think. I've had really good beer and I've had really bad beer. A beer consumed is always a good beer.

Canadian beer if far superior to American beer. I've had many different brands of Canadian beer and they are better than American.

If it has alcohol then it is good beer. The strength of the beer is secondary, and it is dependent on mood. Sometimes I want something light-weight, sometimes I want a meal (Guinness time).

Personally, I prefer a Belgian red ale of Trappist origin. As well, one of my best friends poured a bottle of Chimay down the drain because he couldn't stand it, being raised on Budweiser, and Coors the way he was. So, at the end of the day, it's a personal choice.

Cheers!!
