The third eye can be controlled. She'll want to try and train herself through meditation so that she can begin to control when she sees things and when she doesn't.
Also, most entities will do as a person wishes. If she says "I don't want to see/hear you right now" then most spirits will leave her alone.
There is a great element to control in spiritual workings if one can learn to train their abilities for proper use. It's difficult, so seeking someone who is an elder and knowledgeable of such things could be incredibly helpful.

not that I believe in any of this mumbo jumbo, but had a friend that claimed she had this problem and went to some "healer" and paid some money to have the eye closed. She said she stopped having the visions immediately.

is it a brown eye? sorry bad taste. yes, the supernatural world can be closed to us just as easily as it is opened. however it's usually not voluntary.

Yes, it is. My ex-grandmother had the 3th eye when she was young, after looking for spiritual medium, she had it closed.

I remember hearing somewhere that it can be but i can't remember.. Perhaps she has to wear some kinda amulet to stop herself from seeing them..
