It happens all the time. They don't miraculously turn both straight and have kids etc., but they "cover" each other and appear as a normal "straight" couple to the rest of the world, something very handy if you live in non-tolerant societies.

Are you insane? Of course a gay can marry a lesbian. I think alfonso is brain damaged. Sorry but this such a stupid question. The problem is that in most parts of the world gays can't marry and lesbians can't marry. It's strange that this has only become an issue in recent years. The deal is that until everyone is entitled to the same rights as everybody else, then you will have first and second class citizens. Boo!

Of course they can get married. Some do and each couple has it's own reasons for doing so. They do not however "become" straight. Being married does not require sex nor does it necessarily mean the two parties love each other nor does it require monogamy. There are some homosexuals that marry for the purpose of procreation or as a cover if they are in the military or to avoid scandal from family or society. Every homosexual or heterosexual relationship is unique and is an agreement between the two individuals in the relationship. Most "marriages of convenience", as they are often called, do not involve sex between the man and woman because they are not sexually attracted to each other and the marriage is for other purposes.
But every case is different for their own needs just as every other marriage is different.

Identity is not on a linear scale. Meaning, people aren't just in a range somewhere between heterosexual and homosexual. And for some, sexuality is fluid throughout there lives. They might be heterosexual at some point, Gay the next, bi/omnisexual, and then hetero again and they are what they are when they are something. it isn't that they are trying to get to their "true" sexualities.
Also, if you mess with gender, it messes with sexual orientation, or at least it can. identifying as a sexual orientation is not something anyone else can define for another person... so, it is really up to a person to define for themselves what a certain identity means for them, unto themselves...
but, for instance, if a person is intersex (meaning genetic sex chromosome patterns are not that of male or female) and they identify as non-gendered, then what is their sexual orientation? Or, what if a person is a non-op transexual who is non-gendered and they date another person(s), what is there sexual orientation if they are not a man or a woman? whatever the h*** they identify as ^_~
Below is my website where these ideas are explored further. You are more than welcome to check it out.
But yes, gay man and a lesbian woman can get married if they want to. they can even have sex and have kids with one another and retain whatever identities they feel they can most identify with.
I once identified as a lesbian, my partner identifies as a fag. (lol, wow, it blipped it out. well, ze identifies as a gay boy) We are both non-gendered and people never know what our anatomy is or what it has been or what it will be. No one can define another person, but that person themself.
Best thoughts for you ^_^

Of course they can marry. Most likely it would be a marriage in name only and they would continue practicing their preferred sexual expression but that is up to the couple. I am not a lesbian but I prefer women and I have had several gay men approach me about marriage for reasons ranging from immigration to health care costs to shared child care. Most of these arrangements would not have involved sex with the man but one offered to father my child the old fashioned way if that's what I wanted and another turned out to be bisexual and said he would have sex with me if I wanted but it wasn't necessary to get the money he was offering.

Anyone can marry anyone they want! One would hope that this would be for love, but issues range from social acceptance, to economic and for reproduction.
A gay man and woman can marry, but they just wouldn't enjoy having sex with each other. Reproduction would be done with a turkey baster. They'd have lovers on the side.

of course they can, but why would they? that's just like a gay man marrying a straight woman or a lesbian marrying a straight guy, i mean yeah to be accepted by society but that's not a very healthy way to live

Well, my boyfriend IS married to a lesbian. But it is a marriage of convenience. She is in the military and needs to have the benefit and protection of being thought of as a married woman and my boyfriend gets all the military benefits afforded to a military spouse. But they are not living together and only see each other once every few years if that.

Yes. I mean you have gays and lesbians who go into heterosexual relationship for whatever reason and have children, come out later on in life and reveal they're gay or lesbian to there family and friends. That doesn't change the fact that there true nature is homosexual.
