the rainbow is a symbol of a region in Germany around Regensburg (lit. rain town). In rains very often there hence the rainbow. at first i thought i was seeing a very high population of happy and out gays

Believe it or not, some people actually just like rainbows and it doesn't have anything to do with being gay or straight.
