Can't speak in my mic...plzzzzz help.. 10 points.....?

I have mic(head phone)..... But I can't record or speak from mic......I can hear sound from headphone speaker. But can't speak.... So, what should I do? Plzzzz help. 10 points u will get.... Thanks...

double click speaker icon on right bottom
check if mic is mute.
go to mic properties
enable mic boost.
still if it doesnot works
replace mic.

Make sure that the microphone cord for the headset is actually plugged into the mic jack (red) on your computer.

Also make sure in your recording software (and in Windows' Volume Control) that Mic is selected as the recording source – not something else like Aux or Line.
